We are in the final leg of the family history writing challenge. It officially ends on the 29th, but I hope that the forum will remain open so that we can keep in touch. It has been fun getting to know the other family historians. I am pretty pleased with where I am in the process. My biggest hurdle will be making the information sound interesting. Several people in the forum have suggested books that might help in that regard. There was a list of family histories of all shapes and sizes. I purchased
Oh Beautiful by John Paul Godges upon the recommendation of several people in the group. It is a compelling read so far, and hopefully will give me some ideas on the way I want to approach my story.

We can keep up with each other via our blogs. I'm also on blogspot. I'm excited about my book. I'm on chapter 8 out of 10 today. It started flowing about a week ago and I'm finally engrossed in writing now. I'm so glad I joined the challenge. b.
I definitely want to keep in contact with you Betty. I am back from vacation, so I need to get busy on my story again. I finished Oh Beautiful, and enjoyed it very much. He obviously had a lot of interviews to draw from - something I don't have. But I liked how he changed from one side of the family to the other without losing me along the way.
